We Have Accomplished So Much, Together!
Property Tax Cuts & Homestead Exemption
VIA Grand Prairie
We cut property tax back to back in 2021 & 2022 dropping our property tax rate to $0.660000 per $100 of assessed property value.

Since 2021 we have also increased the homestead exemption from 10% to 15%. The homestead exemption increases allow result in more property tax payment savings for our residents than a typical property tax cut because it solely applies to homeowners.
We launched VIA Grand Prairie in April of 2022 to provide an affordable transportation option for our residents. The automobiles transport our residents anywhere within the city of Grand Prairie for $3 per ride. College students also benefit from the program as it will take them to nearby universities and colleges such as UT Arlington & TCC SE for $3 per ride and to Dallas County College Mountain View Campus and DBU for $4 per ride.
Minimum Wage Increase
During my term on our city council we have raised the minimum wage for all full time city employees to $17.82/hr and $15/hr for part-time & seasonal employees. We believe that if you work for the city of Grand Prairie you deserve to get paid a living wage.
Community Engagement
Bringing our community together with community events is something that gives me great joy. Annually I host community basketball games with our Grand Prairie youth & Police Department to build relationships between the two. I have a community picnic and school supplies drive where residents engage in fellowship with their neighbors from different parts of the city and try food from different cultures, while providing school supplies that we donate to a local school in Grand Prairie. I hold annual town halls that allow me to provide updates and information about current and upcoming city projects and lastly I annually hold a halloween fest with local partners to continue to provide our kids with a safe place to trick-or-treat.
